The 18 piece BIG BAND SWING EXPRESS is comprised of some of the finest musicians from Los Angeles and its surrounding areas. The band members have played with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Buddy Rich, Lou Rawls, Johnny Mathis, Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, Barry Manilow, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, and many more.

The Big Band Swing Express is directed by Julliard Graduate Jonathan Goldman, who played Bass Trombone when the Band was led by Ken Farrar. He took over the leadership of the band following the passing of the late Ken Farrar who wrote more than 30 original Big Band selections, as well as hundreds of arrangements of well known tunes, in addition to leading his band for over 40 years. Under Goldman’s leadership, the band continues to play and enhance Ken’s music. The band plays original swing era style compositions with a modern sound enhanced by the fresh talent of several young band members. Ken’s arrangement of the recognizable favorite “Take The A-Train” has become their opening selection.

Briefly, I am a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music. I was a member of Buddy Rich's band in the late '70's, and performed as regular member of the orchestras of many Broadway Shows. I have also worked with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Natalie Cole, Tom Jones etc., I performed in Sun City in South Africa with Shirley Bassey, and spent 3 months working in Monte Carlo, Monaco performing in the orchestra of the syndicated "Monte Carlo Show".
